Women's Advanced Navigation Training

Service Description

This half day course will give you the skills to help you navigate in some of the most challenging situations you might find yourself in (not including winter conditions) in British mountains. We will build on your experience of utilising existing map and compass skills so you can safely navigate off-path in the thickest fog. We will focus on micro navigation, pacing, timing, walking on a bearing, and relating the map to the real world using contours. This course will start in the light of the evening giving you the opportunity to hone those skills and then we will apply them to night navigation for the second half once the sun has set. The skills are all part of the Mountain Leader syllabus so this is great refresher training.
