OUR PROFESSIONAL GUIDES
Who we are
ANDY WAIN
Having been brought up in rural Yorkshire, I have always had a love of the outdoors, and this has continued to the present day.
Having organised and led walking holidays in the Dolomites, French and Swiss Alps, Pyrenees, and the Drakensberg in South Africa I have lots of experience to bring to you adventure. One of my favourite quotes is by Alan Hinks, “a successful trip is one you get back safely from, the summit is only a bonus.”
I love this because it reflects my passion for us to have a great time together, no matter where we go, or what we do, because it is all about the journey, not the destination.
DANIELLA WAIN
Having begun mountaineering in my teens, my boots have taken me to 7 international ranges across 4 different continents. Equipping me with skills and an adventurous spirit I would love to share. The paradox of the mountains is what draws me to them.
They are a place to explore the wild, overcome challenges and build resilience, both mentally and physically.
Yet, having worked for The Walk and Talk Trust, I have also learned they are a place of stillness, where the world stops, where we can connect with nature, ourselves, and others. Whatever takes your fancy, you are in the right place.
OUR VALUES
WELCOMING
When someone comes to visit our homes, the first thing we do is offer them a drink. When you join us in the mountains there will be a hot, or cold, drink waiting for you fresh from the Kelly Kettle when you arrive at the start of the walk. It is a great opportunity to meet each other, chat about the day and get to know each other a bit.
If you would like a warm mountain welcome before unlocking you adventure, find out more about our walks and the areas of Snowdonia, The Peak District or The Lake District.
PRACTICAL
We want you to have the best time possible, from the moment you start looking at walks, to the moment you get back to the car park.
We are trained mountain leaders, first aid trained and full of experiences and local knowledge to share with you on your walk.
We also want to help you prepare as well, through advice, kit lists, and other practical information so your time in the mountains is as good as it can be.
After all AW Wainwright said, “There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.”
If you are interested in practical skills like learning about navigation get in touch with us for course information and prices.

EMPOWERING YOU
Our passion is for you to grow in skill, experience and confidence in the mountains. It might be through direct teaching on one of our courses or doing something new with one of our skilled guides.
We want to unlock the adventure in you.
If you would like to become more confident on the hill and unlock your adventures, take a look at some of our walks or get in touch to find out how we can help you.
